RIBBON CUTTING. The North Channel Women's Coalition hosted its ribbon cutting at the North Channel Area Chamber of Commerce, Jan. 6. NCWC recently purchased a house to be used as a shelter for victims of domestic abuse. An old-fashioned "pounding" and house warming is planned for 7 p.m., Jan. 25, at the Leon Grayson Community Center, 13828 Corpus Christi at Freeport Street. The community is invited to attend the housewarming and to make donations of household items like dishes, silverware, glasses, cooking utensils, and linens.
